The reality of short-distance electric mobility has started in in Turin with the aim of offering a sustainable alternative for getting around the city. 4.000 e-scooters and 2.000 pedal-assisted bikes will be made available to citizens in the coming months.
Promoted by the Ministry of Transport in Rome and Milan, the sharing program of e-scooters and e-bikes in urban centers it is a concrete solution to the problem of traffic afflicting large cities. In addition to providing an eco-friendly alternative, able to improve air quality in urban areas, active electric micro-mobility (i.e. pedal-assisted bicycle) can bring important health benefits to the biker.
HOW DOES E-BIKE AND E-SCOOTER RENT WORK?
The German company Circ has created an app for iOS and Android that allows the rental of electric scooters by scanning the QR code of the vehicle. The cost of unlocking the vehicle is €1 + €0.19 per minute. You can take advantage of various offers for one-hour rentals (Happy Hour Passes - €4,90); one week rentals (Weekly Pass - free unlocking for 7 days for €5,90); one month (MonthlyPass - free unlocking for a month for €14,90).
As of the the App Helbiz App, this allows the rental of e-scooters and pedal assisted bikes following the same methods as Circ; simply scan the QR code to unlock the vehicles. The unlocking price of the e-bikes is €0.25 + €0.07 per minute, while the cost of unlocking the electric scooters is free + €0.15 per minute. The service offered by Helbiz App will be available 24/7.

Micro-Mobility in Modena
The experimentation on electric micro-mobility will begin shortly in the Modenesearea, which will begin in Formigine during 2020 and which will have a duration of 24 months.
