One step away from heaven, with the bike!

The views that our mountains can offer are nothing short of thrilling and the Pusteria Valley offers great emotions with the colors of its nature, if you can then savor it on your e-bike the taste and beauty increase immeasurably.

This area is crossed by the Pusterbike, the cycle path that connects San Candido to Brunico and which starts from 1,175 meters above sea level up to 800 meters.

This track is almost entirely paved or on a well-prepared gravel road and is not very easy to navigate given the various differences in altitude that make it up, but the smell of the forest pines and the nature that surrounds it will not make you regret your choice.

Perfect for an e-bike tour, the Pusterbike connects to four other cycle paths: the Drava Cycle Path (which from San Candido leads to Lienz), the Sesto Cycle Path (from San Candido to Sesto); The Pusterbike with continuation from Brunico towards Campo Tures and another continuation of the same which, again from Brunico, leads towards Fortezza and Bressanone.

Precisely from this last continuation you can reach one of the most evocative places in the Pusteria Valley: Lake Braies.

Having become famous thanks to the TV series "A step away from heaven", Lake Braies has become a very popular tourist destination.

Framed by one of the most evocative landscapes, it is a small alpine lake located in the Dolomites in Alto Adige and was formed following a landslide that detached from the Sasso del Signore, which then blocked the course of the Rio Braies.

Located in the Val di Braies, the lake is located at the foot of the Croda del Becco rock face, within the Fanes-Sennes and Braies natural park.

To get to this wonderful place, as we were saying, you can take the Pusterbike with its continuation Forte di Fortezza to get to Brunico.

This route, between Monguelfo and Villabassa, branches off towards the Braies Valley and, after a few kilometres, arrives at the town of Braies di Fuori; right at this point the valley divides into two: on the left it branches off towards Prato Piazza and on the right towards the now famous Lago Braies.

From Braies di Fuori, to get to the lake you will have to cycle for 5 kilometers up a 300 m climb on the main road, being very careful about vehicular traffic, or, if you have a mountain bike, you can travel on forest roads through the woods.

Once you reach your destination you will be able to savor one of the most unique landscapes of its kind: whether it is a splendid summer day or a cold winter day, in fact, Lake Braies is able to enchant with its colors and the magic it expresses.
