To support and encourage any type of project relating to the world of cycling and sustainable mobility, Ludovica Casellati, manager of Viagginbici.com, in collaboration with ANCI, has created theUrban Awards.
This contest rewards the Italian cities that have stood out the most with projects relating to bikes and green mobility.
Sustainability – commented the President of the ANCI, Antonio Decaro – becomes an objective to be cultivated even more in light of a reflection on the changes in lifestyle habits in cities after the Covid experience. The Urban Award is a reality capable of bringing together different local experiences on the topic, and the sharing of winning activities in the territories is a fundamental element for change to become widespread and rooted -.
This year the city of was the winner of the competition Parma.
There have been many initiatives proposed by the municipality: one of these is "Parma Cambia Spazio", which we talked about in this article item, a wonderful initiative that proposes school roads, new cycle paths, Zone 30 and a massive communication campaign to support the initiative.
This was followed by “PedalArt”, an initiative to support art by bicycle, “In Parma we pedal with taste”, a project that aims to discover the tradition and typical products of Parma, up to the “Enlightened cyclist ”, aimed at safety when cycling in the evening.
In addition to these wonderful and useful projects, Parma has also stood out for its infrastructural works aimed at improving the micro-mobility of cities: cycle paths, new generation lanes, bike sharing stations, space redevelopment projects, 30 zones.
Parma's relationship with the bicycle is privileged and long-standing – hMayor Pizzarotti commented on the news of the victory – Parma deserved this award because it has been able, in recent years and in many ways, to find the right keys to renew it and project it towards the future -.
The prize won by the Emilian city will be a new bike fleet offered by ANCMA member companies.
She placed second Francavilla Fontana, in the province of Brindisi, with its project aimed at businesses "Adopt a bike", a widespread bike sharing service with the aim of encouraging residents and non-residents, with a simple, accessible and free alternative to the use of the car.
On the podium, with a well-deserved third place, Pesaro for the creation of his Bicipolitana.
Finally, a special mention for the beautiful city of Cosenza and its new cycle routes.
Wonderful projects therefore, which we hope will inspire and duplicate throughout our beautiful country!
