A new beautiful signed Tour E-Bike Travel Montalto Pavese!
A “Mud-Free” tour, which will definitely make you have fun without getting bogged down!
This route, starting from Montalto Pavese, includes a first part on asphalt, to get closer to the second Apennine belt.
This area has the characteristic of originating from ancient marine outcrops. The clay, mixed here with sand, sticks to the bike but comes off immediately, without hindering pedaling.
From Passo del Carmine, with the Il Belvedere restaurant, you go down to the ancient pier of Casa Marchese, now converted into a bar restaurant.
We go up to Zavattarello, with its beautiful castle.
Then you begin a slow and gentle climb, through views that seem more Alpine than Apennine.
Chalets, mowed meadows, red Varzesi cows grazing... Wherever you stop, it is mandatory to taste a few slices of Salame di Varzi, unique in Italy for its sweetness and structure, with a larger grain than other cured meats!
We then pass through Pietragavina, with the Malaspina Castle, where Dante Alighieri stayed when he was fugitive Ghibellin.
You can eat at the La Posta restaurant, an old horse changing station. We then climb into the ancient village, on a beautiful stone road. From here until returning to Montalto Pavese, the road is almost entirely along the coast or downhill. There are still a few possible gastronomic stops at the Verde Sosta in Torre degli Alberi.
Once back in the municipal area of Montalto, the ride ends in one of the beautiful cellars, sipping a refreshing Rielsing or bubbles with Cruasè, Pinot Noir Classic Method Rosè.
A beautiful 50 km tour of low difficulty, riding our wonderful e-bikes to discover this wonderful area!
