Incentives for the purchase of e-bikes and cargo bikes are back in Bologna!

From 1 July Bologna introduced the 30 km/h limit in the city and reintroduced a very interesting and advantageous initiative to encourage sustainable mobility.

The Municipality of Bologna has in fact resumed theprovision of incentives for the purchase of e-bikes and cargo pedal-assisted bike.

Last year the Municipality of Bologna launched a campaign which allowed the purchase of 2,135 vehicles, exhausting the financing of one million euros.

Palazzo D'Accursio has allocated a further 700,000 euros, bringing the total available funds to 1.8 million, with the aim of encouraging the purchase of another 1500 ebikes.

“The promotion of cycling is a key aspect to transform Bologna into a City 30, thus making the city safer, quieter, sustainable and cleaner”, declared Valentina Orioli, the Councilor for New Mobility. “The additional 700 thousand euros of incentives for the purchase of electric bicycles and cargo bikes represent another sign of our commitment to making this process accessible to all”.

The incentive takes the form of 500 Euros for the purchase of one ebike and of 1,000 euros for them cargo ebike.

Furthermore, this cannot exceed the 50% cost of purchasing the asset and contributions will be paid on a first-come, first-served basis.

These must be submitted via the dedicated portal on the Municipality website, using the Spid as an authentication system.

It is necessary to present the purchase invoice, the technical data sheet (only for eCargo), a €16 tax stamp and a declaration from the Mobility Manager for non-residents.

The initiative is aimed at residents of Bologna and to those who live in the territory of the City and are employees at institutions and companies with a Mobility Management agreement in force with the Municipality of Bologna.
