Emilia Romagna allocates important contributions for the purchase of e-bikes and e-cargo

Anyone who purchases an e-bike or an e-Cargo starting from August 7th in Emilia Romagna will be able to enjoy an important advantage!

Contributions arrive from the Region for those who decide to purchase a pedal-assisted bike or cargo bike: 9 million for the three-year period 2023-25.

The contribution (which cannot exceed 50% of the cost of the vehicle) can go from 500 Euros for the purchase of one e-bikes to an 1000 euros for that of one eCargo, and is intended for residents of the municipalities signatory to the air plan, the plain and the agglomeration of Bologna.

Contribution that rises to 700 euros for e-ebikes and 1,400 for e-cargoes – not exceeding 70% cost – reserved for those who have scrapped the old car from 1 January 2023 and with an additional incentive of 200 euros for those who live in one of the flooded municipalities (as indicated in the annex to law 100 of 27 July 2023).

The audience affected by the contribution for bicycles and cargo bikes is 4 million inhabitants (91% of the total population of Emilia-Romagna) on an area of 13,400 square kilometers (60% of the entire regional surface area) and 207 Municipalities involved.

A decision that aims to incentivize the urban travel on less polluting vehicles to reach, by 2025, in Municipalities with a population exceeding 30 thousand inhabitants and in those of the Bologna agglomeration, at least the 50% threshold of more 'ecological' traffic and a reduction in vehicular traffic of 20% (Integrated Regional Transport Plan) .

We support the air quality of our region with a new measure because the implications it has on the health of all of us and on the environment are increasingly evident”, say the vice-president with responsibility for ecological transition, fight against climate change, environment, Irene Priolo and the regional councilor for Infrastructure, Transport and Mobility, Andrea Corsini.

We must change our habits to have increasingly livable and healthy cities, making the most of the technology available. With this investment, after the bike-to-work ones and the free train and bus passes for students under 19 - close the vice president and councilor -, we reward sustainable urban mobility in a concrete way. Even so, each of us can contribute to combating climate change”.

Citizens will have to present the request of contribution online starting from September 20th on the site https://mobilita.regione.emilia-romagna.it/bandi/bandobici .
