The Pearls of the Italian Alps by E-Bike!

Mobility and gentle tourism, in the name of a relaxing experience in full harmony with nature.

This is precisely the objective of 21 Italian Alpine resorts who have joined together to form, together with Austria, Switzerland, Germany and Slovenia, a network called Pearls of the Alps.

On the Italian side we find: Ceresole Reale, Chamois – La Magdeleine, Cogne, Forni di Sopra, Funes, Limone Piemonte, Moena, Moso in Passiria and Racines.

Mobility in the Pearls of the Alps is guaranteed by shuttle services, shuttles for hikers, ski buses, taxi services, e-bikes and assistance: all in line with a green and sustainable policy.

Piedmont lemon, a real pearl in the Maritime Alps, in the province of Cuneo, is located at 1000 meters above sea level, between Colle di Tenda and the Ligurian Coast.

Rich in gastronomic culture and Natural Parks, including the Maritime Alps Park, the Gesso Stura River Park, the Mercantour Park and the Marguerais Park, Limone Piemonte is the perfect destination for e-bikes.

One of the most evocative routes is certainly the Via del Sale which starts along the former military road Limone – Monesi.

This stretch is of medium difficulty and reaches the highest point at 2,239 metres.

You can start from the Limone railway station, then traveling 53 m, or from Colle di Tenda, reducing the route to 39 km.

The arrival point is in Monesi di Triora at 1378 km.

During the journey you can immerse yourself in spectacular places such as the lunar-looking Conca delle Carmene, the protected areas of the Maritime Alps and the Ligurian Alps Park, the Bosco delle Navette and military fortifications from the late nineteenth century.

Another Pearl, located in the Aosta Valley at the foot of the Matterhorn, is Chamois – La Magdeleine. Chamois is the only municipality that totally embodies the spirit of the Pearls of the Alps as it is completely self-contained and can only be reached on foot or by cable car.

Chamois and the Magdeleine are a true paradise of relaxation and nature, where cyclists can find paths for all tastes and experience levels: there are, in fact, almost completely flat paths, perfect for families or novice cyclists, or routes, such as the one that leads to the Champolong lakes or that of Point Sublime, perfect for more experienced e-riders.

Furthermore, in the Gran Paradiso National Park there is another beautiful pearl, a small village in the Piedmont Alps: Royal Ceresole.

Rich in alpine fauna and guardian of a wonderful crystal clear lake, the use of e-bikes reigns in this location to fully enjoy the landscapes.

There are also various itineraries in Ceresole: The tour of Lake Ceresole, for example, is an ideal route for families while the ascent of the Gran Paradiso will be able to satisfy the thirst for adventure of the more experienced thanks also to spectacular views that they fully repay every effort.

Also in the Gran Paradiso National Park there is Cogne, at 1542 meters above sea level.

Custodian of the large expanse of vegetation of the Prati di Sant'Orso and that of the Lillaz waterfalls, even in this valley you can easily leave the car stationary in favor of a nice bike ride.

Moena, on the border between the Fiemme and Fassa valleys, is the perfect destination for a family cycling holiday.

In fact, the Dolomite cycle path passes through this pearl and reaches Canazei, crossing unique and evocative landscapes.

Starting from Moena, you can follow an itinerary that leads to the discovery of the trenches and then continue to Passo San Pellegrino and arrive at the Paneveggio Park via the Tibetan bridge.

Waterfalls, natural parks, Pale di San Martino, fauna, flora and colors will fill the eyes of all the riders who travel through the places of this Wonderful Pearl.

In the heart of Friuli, at the foot of the Carnia Dolomites, we find, instead, Forni di Sopra.

At 907 meters above sea level, in a valley in the Friulian Dolomites Park and a UNESCO Natural Heritage Site, this other Pearl of the Alps is surrounded by wonderful woods and flowering meadows: a true gem set among Dolomite spiers and the perfect destination for lovers of sport, adventure and nature.

Funes, home of Reinhold Messner and included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, is located in Alto Adige and is the guardian of magnificent farms, lush mountain pastures and pastures. In addition to breathtaking landscapes, Val di Funes is also a paradise for lovers of good food: typical refuges, welcoming inns and restaurants offering typical regional specialities, perfection after a nice ride!

We then move on to Moso in Passiria, a Pearl of the Alps in the Gruppo di Tessa Natural Park, near Merano.

Winter excursions, trekking, e-bikes: this is a perfect all-round sports destination. Absolutely not to be missed if you are in the area: the Passirio gorge, the "Emotion of Paso Rombo", the ice mills of Plata and the Bunker Museum.

The last Pearl, but not least, is Racines, a fairytale place with stunning mountains and unique landscapes.

This place offers various experiences related to gentle mobility in both winter and summer but also relaxation and quiet days in contact with nature.
