Ferrara: the city of cycling

Recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and always considered the "Italian City of Bicycles", Ferrara is an evocative area rich in tradition.

Flat and surrounded by the water of the Po, the entire Ferrara province is ideal for discovering by e-bike,

From the sea to the city, countryside and villages, protected oases and villages on the plains: there are hundreds of kilometers to travel on cycling routes in complete safety.

From Ferrara, for example, it is possible to get to Comacchio, covering a 200 km ring on flat and divisible into several stages.

To the north we run along the Great Po River, in its most beautiful stretch, that is, the one towards the mouth.

From here you can reach this lagoon city with wonderful canals, among unique landscapes and a very rich ecosystem.

Then pedaling towards the south, the large mirrors of the Valley contrast with the expanses of woods and fields of wheat and rapeseed, until returning to Ferrara passing by Oasis and Delizie, fascinating Este residences, monasteries, the marvelous Castle and the Palaces of the Diamonds and Schifanoia.

Another very beautiful e-bike route is the one that takes into consideration theRight of the Po itinerary, one of the longest cycle routes in Europe that reaches the sea.

Along the route you come across the Rocca Possente Stellata, the Mill on the water of Ro, the Mesola Castle and the ports of Goro and Gorino.

This route, mainly on a cycle path, is a particularly long itinerary and mostly exposed to the sun, which is why it is recommended to travel in the spring and autumn periods.

For those who want, however, to discover the beauties of City Walls, can follow the 12 km long ring that runs along the valley embankment of the walls.

Starting from the Estense Castle, in fact, you can reach the Porta degli Angeli where you can discover bastions, gunboats, secret passages and wonderful bulwarks.

We also recommend a pleasant walk along Via delle Erbe, to immerse yourself in an urban countryside, nestled in the heart and center of Ferrara.
