Sardinia, nestled in the Mediterranean Sea, enchants every cyclist with its wild landscape and cultural history.
To meet the growing demand for adventurous yet relaxing cycling experiences, the creation of the Sardinia cycle path, an ambitious regional project of 1147 km of cycle routes divided into 19 stages.
Crossing breathtaking views, from the coast to the vineyard-dotted hills, the Ciclovia offers cyclists the chance to explore the island at their own pace, discovering its hidden treasures. To enrich the cycling experience, they are redeveloping sections of an old abandoned railway which passes through the centers of Villamar and Las Plassas up to Barumini, along the slopes of the Giara di Gesturi plateau, where the characteristic wild horses can be spotted.
The plan for route 13, a key part of the Sardinia Cycle Route, represents a significant commitment to improve the regional cycling experience by 2024. Its implementation involves the creation of dedicated cycle paths, L‘installation of signs and safety measures, as well as the strengthening of existing infrastructures to meet the needs of cyclists of all levels.
