“If you train with an E-bike you might as well stay on the sofa”.
Here's the first big myth to dispel!!
With an E-Bike you really struggle and you also train a lot.
In the collective imagination, the e-bike is associated with a kind of scooter, where "you press a button and the bike goes by itself".
But that's not the case at all: with an electric bicycle pedaling is the main "engine"., and the electric motor "only" provides assistance, the intensity of which is up to you to decide.
A study ofUniversity of Zurich brought out a truly curious fact: those who use an electric bicycle carry out more physical activity than those who use a muscle bicycle.
This is because those who own an e-bike are inclined to use it for more hours a week, also covering greater distances and, therefore, even if the pedaling effort is less, the overall exercise is more intense.
A further fear to be set aside is that linked to autonomy of e-bikes.
Those who wish to practice cycle tourism should know that today there are batteries that guarantee truly unthinkable autonomy for only a few years.
We are talking about 70, 80 and even 100 km that can be covered on a single charge, always taking into account that a short stop of an hour allows a recharge of almost 50% of the battery, which can even reach 80% if we stop for lunch for a couple of hours.
“The eye also wants its part”
The first e-bike models released on the market 5 or 6 years ago were actually objects that were not particularly refined from an aesthetic point of view.
But today it's a completely different story: manufacturers have created extremely pleasant bicycles with clean lines, standards that take comfort and beauty into account, colors and geometries that are in step with the times.
E-bikes are increasingly becoming objects from enviable design, as well as allies for physical well-being.
“Yes, but a beautiful bike is conspicuous and thieves can see well”.
Yes, unfortunately it's true.
But it is also true that, in step with the technological evolutions of e-bikes, protection systems have also evolved a lot in recent years.
With a few tens of euros you can buy padlocks that are unassailable with simple wire cutters and can only be broken with battery-operated hoses, certainly not available to petty thieves.
There are also GPS geolocalization systems, which can be hidden in the e-bike and configured, via app, with your mobile phone.
These systems send an alert when the bike is moved and, in the event of theft, allow precise geo-localization, useful for finding the e-bike.
Even for these systems we are talking about extremely limited investments.
As you can see, clichés no longer apply.
The technology linked to e-bikes keeps pace with the times to offer the end user, whether he is an enthusiast or not, an experience tailored to every need!
