Garda cycle path: the 350 million project is ready.

The technical and economic feasibility project for the road route is finally ready Garda cycle path, an itinerary along the shores of Lake Garda.

All that remains for the three regions involved, therefore Lombardy, Veneto and Trentino, is to send the project to the Ministry of Infrastructure which will then have to start the hunt for funding.

The total cost of the work is 344.5 million euros, of which 80 million will be used to create 20 new kilometers along the stretch of coast of the autonomous province of Trento, 120.5 million will be allocated to approximately 67 km along the coast of the Veneto region, and finally 144 million will be used to build approximately 80 km along the Lombardy Riviera.

The Garda cycle ring, considered an indispensable strategic work, especially in a historical moment like this, where the bike movement fuels increasingly higher percentages of the tourist GDP, provides for a 166 km cycle-pedestrian ring, largely still to be realize.

At the moment, 2 construction sites have been opened on the Trentino stretch and it is expected to complete the route along the west bank, up to the border with Limone where the cantilever cycle path ends today, by 2025.

Work has also started in some sections in Veneto and Lombardy, benefiting from funding in favor of border municipalities whose process started a few years ago.

In particular, the section near the municipality of Limone has been completed and work is underway in Brenzone.

For the Garda area of Brescia, 12 million have already been allocated for the Limone-Campione stretch, the most complex from a technical point of view.

Then it will be the turn of Campione-Gargnano, which will require another 18-20 million, but even between Gargnano and Salò the route still needs to be financed.
