“Bike to Shop”: Christmas shopping is green in Modena!

Discounts and incentives for those who go shopping by bike, this is the proposal of Modena Councilor Vittorio Reggiani.

With an eye on shop windows and a sustainable future, the proposal was approved by unanimous vote at the City Council at last Thursday's meeting.

The Municipality of Modena, to promote the use of bicycles even when shopping, invited associations and traders, both in the historic center and in the suburbs, to offer discounts to those who go to the store arriving by bicycle.

The document aims to encourage the use of bicycles for public initiatives, exhibitions, reviews and events spread throughout the city.

Furthermore, the proposal aims to intercept future financing intended for the implementation of soft mobility interventions, such as “Bike to work”, the initiative that encourages the use of bicycles to go to work, as well as the increase in parking spaces and depots and the improvement of urban routes for the benefit of citizens.

E-Bike Travel Modena has decided to join and contribute to this initiative.

In fact, for every e-bike purchased by December 25th, the padlock is free!

This way, all citizens can keep their e-bikes safe during Christmas shopping!
