The European Mobility Week opened with the announcement of a highly anticipated event: Reggio Emilia will, in fact, host MobilitARS 2022.
The second edition of the training symposium dedicated to the cities of the future will be held from 27 to 29 May next year, whose objective is to manage urban mobility of the third millennium.
The last edition, held completely online due to health restrictions, involved more than 40 speakers including academics, technicians and administrators who presented their solutions for a healthy and resilient city and saw over 1300 virtual spectators.
Organized by Bikenomist, with the support of Selle Royal Group, topics were addressed regarding the strategy for adapting urban areas to change and public participation in shaping the future of cities.
The main theme of the next edition will be the "City without a car" so as to try to imagine a totally new way of moving and using urban space.
“UEuropean Mobility Week is an excellent opportunity to talk about the issues dearest to us in the field of mobility: road safety, sustainable mobility, quality of public space, technological innovation”, said the councilor for sustainability policies Carlotta Bonvicini “This is why I am pleased to announce this series of events and above all to launch MobilitARS 2022, a very important event for those involved in mobility that Reggio Emilia is happy to host in May 2022”.
The program will be examined by a technical-scientific committee and a meeting will be held in December to welcome suggestions from the public, academics, technicians, administrators and startups in the sector on the management of specific issues relating to urban mobility.
