MTB outing: are you sure you have everything you need?

The weekend is upon us and there is nothing better than a nice e-bike ride.

But to make it a relaxing and worry-free ride, are you sure you have everything you need in your backpack?

Necessities for every eventuality, food and adequate clothing: these are the three categories that are essential to bring with you.

But let's see them together!

First of all: trip-saving accessories emergency for us and our e-bike.

There is nothing more unpleasant than an e-bike ride and not being ready for the small hiccups that usually happen, such as a punctured tire or chain problems.

The tools, therefore, that cannot be missing from your backpack are:

  • Tubeless repair kit: practical, fast and space-saving inserts for tubeless rubber repairs;
  • Tire patches: useful in case the tubeless repair kit is not sufficient;
  • Inner tube;
  • Tire levers, essential for most tire operations;
  • CO2 pump and/or cartridge;
  • Chain link: in case of chain breakage, the chain link can solve the problem in a very short time;
  • Derailleur hanger: a slide can break the derailleur and prevent the use of the derailleur, which is why it is good practice to have a spare;
  • Multitool with complete supply of the main tools.

Another very important category concerns i food.

Unless your tour includes a refreshment stop in some farmhouse surrounded by nature, we advise you to take a supply of food and water with you.

Energy foods, such as bars and gels, are an important energy source for a battery-charging stop.

A sandwich, however, can certainly be an excellent solution for a lunch stop surrounded by greenery.

Last, but certainly not least, a good supply of water. The advice is to equip yourself with a thermal water bottle, so as to always have fresh water available, especially in the hottest hours.

Finally the clothing.

Obviously it depends on the duration of the route and the climate, but it is good practice to have some clothing in case of a sudden change in the weather.

An undershirt to change after a stop or immediately before a descent will allow you to avoid unnecessary colds and a windproof and/or rainproof jacket will allow you to take shelter in particularly exposed areas.

This little handbook will be useful to you to avoid unpleasant surprises and enjoy your weekend in complete relaxation and carefree!
