Rimini, an increasingly cyclist-friendly city.

Rimini has taken a decisive step in favor of sustainable mobility, starting right from its seafront.

Forget the large expanse of asphalt full of cars in transit and parking lots, a seafront without any cycle path, narrow sidewalks and bikes whizzing past, ringing their bells, through the traffic.

The Municipality of Rimini has decided to invest in infrastructure that allow pedestrian and bicycle movement in total safety, embracing a greener and more sustainable logic micro-mobility.

Make way for greenery, therefore, with a wonderful park that hosts small open-air gyms, benches, wide wooden walks overlooking the sea and direct access to the beaches.

A wonder for the eyes, ears and great freedom for everyone to move around without risk.

An 8 km bidirectional cycle path has also been established which connects Rimini to Riccione and which will host line 1 of the Bicipolitana from Rimini.

This project, which began on 6 July 2020, will guarantee a strategic connection between the two cities that represent the heart of the Romagna Riviera, connecting them with the entire existing and future cycle network.

The Bicipolitana it will be connected to the south with the axis that leads to Miramare and to the north, the section that will reach Viserbella and then connect with the northern seafront will be built; the cycle path will then connect with theGreen Ring at the height of the bridge on Via Roma and from there to the rest of the city and the sea.

The cycle path on the Via Roma axis – underlines the mobility councilor Roberta Frisoni – it is an important piece of the Bicipolitana, at the center of the Pums' active mobility strategies. This Administration is focused on creating a quality, safe and connected cycle network across the entire territory, to make the city more liveable and also more accessible to children and the elderly, who do not have the possibility of driving a car. The project, which affects strategic nodes such as the station and the hospital, also involves numerous school complexes, with schools of all levels, including the South Zone study centre. This is another important step forward, after the recent inauguration of the Via Coriano cycle path, to accompany the change that Rimini is carrying out in the name of sustainability and to contribute, at the same time, to the safety of the daily routes of workers and students.

A far-sighted, challenging and intelligent project to allow people to experience their city fully and in a sustainable way!
